Apologies if this has already been mentioned on the Forum - but I feel that it is an initiative that needs publicity given the urgent topicality of the subject.
There is to be a FREE debate on the EU - should we stay or should we go? - at the All Saints Centre on Tuesday 22nd November at 7.30 for 8pm.
It's being organised by Ondrej Soucek of Pastorale Antiques. Czech-born Ondrej stood as an Independent candidate in Lewes at the last General Election.
So far he has booked Norman Baker and a Tory MP for the panel, and a UKIP spokesperson; and is actively seeking speakers from labour and the Greens.
This will be a rare chance to question MPs about the burning subject of the day - is the EU implosion going to consume us all? and I urge as many people as possible to come along. It's called democracy. (Something notably lacking in the European Union IMHO!).

Sounds fasinating.....love to go, but alas I have to cut my toenails, and the paint drying in the kitchen needs watching along with the grass growing in my lawn.

@ Lewes lady: Maybe next year when you trip along to your hole in the wall for cash to buy more toenail varnish and paint and it doesn't deliver any because Santander ( for example) has gone bust because of the Euro you'll wish you HAD gone along.

Gross....I do not do toenail varnish....
I'm semi self sufficient, have no mortgage....grow a large % of my own food. And if a bank did go tits up the government will pay you up to £38000 (roughly) of your lost savings..

@ lewes lady : Well, bully for you - you sound delightfully smug. I hope your 'semi self-sufficiency' includes a shotgun to defend your veg patch from the starving mobs outside who lack your foresight & are not semi-self sufficient.

You may need Paul, LL, because if the banks crash again, so will the govt finances, and you can say bye-bye to your £38K. A guarantee is only as good as the guarantor.
