Little Theatre should be a good venue for the cinema. Pats on the back to all concerned in setting that up. Having said that, a town the size of Lewes should be able to support a commercial cinema.

Yes, well done Lewes Cinema. many others would have given up. I wish you every success.

They squealed like a bunch of girls. , and now they have got a better venue IMO , why this wasn't their first plan instead of spending all that time and energy on petitions and the like but best of luck and hope both venues flourish

A dedicated cinema/arts complex at Harveys Yard on Pinwell Road might be a reasonable idea. As I understand it the site is waiting for some decent development ideas.

Where is Lewes little theatre? I've lived here 20 years and never been - to be fair I don't like theatre. I went to the all saints one recently - lovely seats but only 10 of us there - I hope it doesn't turn a loss as being funded by us taxpayers

it's in lancaster street near the pells.
yes i went to the council cinema for headhunters and there were less than 20 people there. I think the seats cost over £20,000 so would love to see our Town Council accounts this year to see how much profit we make as taxpayers!?! That council already spends a million pounds a year of our money so I hope both cinemas ae successful as I don't want to pay for the council cinema through my taxes.

Yes, the council promised that by getting rid of Lewes Cinema they would be able to put money back into the community.

Ha ha - I think if the council lose money could the councillors who voted for it think of a way to make it up to us. Bizarre decision for a parish council to fund and run a cinema.

Many people don't know where the Lewes Little Theatre is although it's centrally located in Lancaster Street. It's an excellent building for cinema and with our upcoming 'open afternoon' people will get the chance to come in and enjoy a drink and bite to eat with us and have a look at the venue.
One of the main benefits of the collaboration between the cinema and the theatre is indeed that many people will discover the theatre for the first time.
