Cue the comedians....
But when do we get our "rate rebate" Mr Council??
Landport has been a building site for almost a year now - started with Virgin for about 4 months - what was a bloody nuisance for roadwork now pales into insignificance - THEY were the good guys!
(I tried out their new service and to be honest Sky is as good on standard Fibre without the boost).
Then the Gas mob - uncovering half of the Virgin fibres (6" deep) to put gas pipes at about 3' deep - priceless planning guys.
And they have been around for nigh on 6 months now, constant moving parking restrictions and traffic lights on the one round in and out of the estate now - a struggle to get home of an evening BEORE they set them up!!
Every corner on Landport road is now a quagmire, most of the gutter drains are full of mud and not draining now. Driving or walking past Eridge green has been like bog-snorkeling since October - cars and clothing needing a weekly deep clean.

The same up in Nevill. Pavements are carnage, they've cut the Virgin cables by mistake which I'm told means after the gas people have repaired everything Virgin will come back and have to dig everything up yet again.

How horrible! I mean seriously, all these companies coming into our estate trying to improve our services. What an inconvenience having to wait at temp traffic lights for all of 1 minute. Not to mention the fact there isn't another way around Eridge Green to access other parts of the estate. Oh no wait, there is. However it does add all of 1 minute to my journey.
Get a grip!

Jester, you are an idiot. Extremely valid points have been made about conditions in Landport and Nevill, and you come up with puerile attempted sarcasm and talk of traffic lights, which are clearly causing additional frustration. Anything for a cheap laugh, you hope.

Landport is a hole at the moment (its normally very nice despite what people say), yes compared to athe gas mains work virgin were very clean and efficient. I especially love the shockingly poor quality of the repairs they do (it couldn't get less professional if they tried).
Still at least Landport now matches the rest of Lewes (a war zone).

I didn't think the gas repairs on the Nevill were too disruptive, tbh. At least they weren't out there till late evening every night and working at weekends like Virgin were. The workmen themselves were unfailingly pleasant and polite. The only time we were inconvenienced was when we came back home after a night away and found them working in our drive, because it was the only way they could relocate our neighbour's meter.
And I'd rather have had the inconvenience of gas main replacement than the inconvenience of an explosion because of a leak. There was a leak in a neighbouring road a year or two ago, and they had to do an emergency repair at 10 pm.

Alright Gus calm your sh17. I love this forum. So many people rattling round looking for something to complain about then vent their 'frustration' on here. Look outside of your boxes and you'll see that these matters aren't even issues. It's only an issue if you make it one. It's a great 1st world problem to have don't you think?!

Jester, your grasp of reality is very poor. Do you inhabit a parallel universe?

My grasp on reality?! Is that serious? You clearly are blinded by your own ego and self importance not to see that road works are a mere speedbump on the scale of what is happening on the rest of the country, and the world for that matter. If you could just for a second, remove your head from your ars3, you may just see that.
