So you had to explain to your eight year old "what a DFL c**t is"?! Great parenting skills their. You really didn't have to explain it to your eight year old!
Oh and if you lot were proper CBS members you wouldn't be discussing it on here.

Hey Kendo if you are so bright where did the term DFL come from? As you seem to be so adapt at using this forum and so a computer why don't you sign up to the ECN and then you would know that this has been dealt with. Well done for slagging off your own society in such a public way enjoy the 5th won't you!

Secret societies. This bonfire business seems more and more like some sort of pathetic school boy masonry type stuff.

I'm sorry Kendo, if you really care about your society I think here should be the last place (other than a letter to the Sussex Express) to air your views. You have now highlighted something that many people would not have known anything about, and now I expect most people on here, who are not members of the Cliffe, are itching to get hold of a copy of the Clarion to see what all the fuss is about. Next time leave it to the Cliffe forum and the Committee, no-one else needs to know.

Cliffebimbo, why does no one else need to know, is it like a covenent or something, christ, some people.
All he/she mentioned was the use of a certain word in the Clarion.

Cliffebimbo , I have been an active member of the cliffe for over 25 years and have held positions of so called authority , have worked my butt off raising money and supporting my society . Personally I support kendo caster , the members are usually the last to know about anything and the society as a whole is run and approved by about 40 people , who are blinkered and so far up thier own bottoms they could wear themselves as hats ,I am sick of it as are a lot of other members , I used to think nulli secundis and would have fought for my society , but now just think its full of self praising and egotistical idiots , the cliffe used to be mighty but now it seems anything goes and no one is being held to account for what th hey say or do ?

If anyone is making Cliffe look bad it's all these very very very serious Opus Dei style twits who are acting like a childish poem is a matter of national security and demanding that Kendo shut up.
Haven't you lot heard of the Streisand Effect?

Hi
I work in PR and have recently moved to your beautiful little town from the big smoke.
This has been a bit of a public relations disaster hasn't it?
I'd like to offer my services to Cliffe.
As Captain of PR, I could organize some brainstorming sessions and I'm sure that a bit of blue sky thinking would soon turn these frowns upside down!
Ciao

lol reading the self righteous cliffe bigots on here reminds me of the trade union leaders of the 1970's.
I like the comment 'matter of national security and demanding that Kendo shut up'
No doubt a meeting will be called for followed by a witch hunt.
As much as I like bonfire, please remember boys it's really a bunch of beer guts letting off rookies. That's all it is.

Thank you for your in depth insight into bonfire Jim, I'm sure no-one will mind if you come to the War Memorial on the 5th and explain to those assembled that bonfire really is only about 'a bunch of beer guts letting off rookies'. There will be a minute when no-one else is talking.
A rather pathetic post really, even by the standards of some of the other postings.
It is a shame that a complaint about one censored word has led to so much vitriol being launched about bonfire in general. It has been used as an excuse by certain individuals to attack The Cliffe in general let alone the individual members of The Cliffe who complained about the content to the people responsible.

Isn't it you that is the stirrer here?
If you'd kept your mouth shut this would have just gone away but now you've made Cliffe look like the North Korean Bonfire Society.

Bonfire is bonfire and has been rude etc for years (think of the songs 'i love my wife' as a great example) - it would be nice if people like kendo turned up to make torches etc with the real bonfire boys and girls - and had aired his opinions there. The article involved was already being dealt with by cliffe's committee before the first post on here and apologees have been given and will be going out. So............

There was and is nothing on the Cliffe forum, which members of the Cliffe have access to, and how do you know that Kendo has not been down the yard or done any work for the Cliffe.
This is typical Lewes forum, a simple post has been jumped on by all the knobs and turned into a slanging match.
