You fall for the same trick every time don`t you! Betcha sorry now it`s too late. L.O.L. Lots of love, Ruthless.

"Ruthless" This is a ridiculous post, not to say insulting, we many of us may not like the lady and we may, and do find her allegiances suspect, but at least one can post an intelligent, allbeit a critical statement not a stupid ignorant rant.

@'Ruthless', @'Tory Voice' first preference votes in this constituency are going to favour the Tory Party for the foreseeable future. By switching your allegiance from Labour to Lib Dem in an attempt to vote tactically you are playing with fire. In 2010, as in the last few elections, you succeeded in getting a Lib Dem MP elected. In order to avoid a hung parliament, and in order to avoid another election which would probably have delivered a similar outcome. the Lib Dems and the Tories formed a coalition. Vote Labour, or indeed vote for anyone other than Norman next time in this constituency, and see what happens.

Politics is a strange business in which it seems to me, many compromises have to be made. I have no interest in getting involved in the meetings and hard slog of it so I am prepared to leave it to others. Basically, I trust Ruth, even if I don't agree with everything she does. Can someone give me detailed reasons why I should not trust her to represent me in the councils?

Politicians and Councillors are like dirty nappies, and should be changed frequently, for the same reason.

Because you have no idea what she actually believes? With party candidates there is a line they have to adhere to, one the party itself has decided and voters therefore have an idea what they're getting. An independent - as we've seen - can act on whim with no explanation to anyone.

all Councillors can be problematic, which is why you have to quiz them and monitor what they are actually doing, not simply project on to them the image they wish to convey through fluffy leaflets and endless Express photo ops. Independent just describes a lack of party membership, it does not guarantee quality, or even independence from endorsing bad policies of parties we don't like.

I've always consider that an Independent is simply a person who doesn't really want to deal with any major issues. Collecting milk bottle tops is about the extent of their abilities.

Ruth O 'keffee is an asset to Lewes, and more people should appreciate her and the tireless work she does. She goes above and beyond for everyone at all times, I personally don't know anyone else who would be invited to a fun day in a mayoral capacity and carry tables, or go to a community BBQ and stay to do the washing up. Not to mention her organisation of society's fair, or how much behind the scenes help she gives the food banks. Don't even get me started on her amazingly helpful facebook posts, about road closures, public funds, and the like.
