I suggest that we should all provide half a dozen baubles (each) and, under cover of darkness, place our decorations on the trees.
.
What do you think?

I'd check with Cllr Gardiner to see if you need planning permission. If you do, say you'll build a cinema if you get permission.

i remember a few years back the Sussex Express got some letters about the Christmas Tree and how it was insensitive for it to be next to the war memorial. Disrespectful to the dead, apparently.

was the tree more or less sensitive to the dead than the traffic?
anyway, Cllr Gardiner tells me that the WarMmemorial does not need to be treated carefully, or with respect, because it is not ancient, and doesn't mark anything. His officers have told him that it can be demolished, so that we have a nice open public area, and a bigger tree, with twine baubles from Wickle.

I think it would be better to demolish the war memorial and put up a multi-storey car park.

That is a great idea. All the tourists who come to see the Castle, will have somewhere convenient to park. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for your support Cllr Gardiner but I thought the LDC solicitor told you councillors weren't supposed to talk to voters about planning. Naughty, naughty.

No you are wrong. He told me that I couldn't let the other Councillors talk about planning as they aren't competent enough. I kam better, and know more about planning, so can be trusted not to get my facts wrong or let vanity get the better of me.

I'm serious about my wicked and cunning plan - only today I acquired a large bag of decorations that were to be thrown out.
Who wants to join me in an undercover quest to ENBAUBLE the trees?

Can everyone please ensure that any balls are screwed, bolted or glued to the trees and made of plastic as they may fall off and break in the wind. Broken glass is a serious health hazard to the citizens of this town, passing dogs and tree climbing cats.
