This is very last minute but I'm looking for a handyman who might be available tomorrow to change a tap and install a light fitting. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Jeremy Corbyn can do it. He's the answer to everyone's problems. He'll probably do it for free as well.

When Comrade Corbyn is in charge, you will need both a plumber and an electrician. The unions will demand it. And unqualified handypeople will be illegal.

It is already highly improbable you will find a responsible tradesperson to do both jobs, especially at short notice. Both jobs are easy enough that they could be done by a competent person, but regulation of electrics has made it impossible for anyone but a qualified electrician to do the work (and be insured for the work carried out.)
The plumbing can be done by a handyperson, and you can call a proper plumber to sort out the leaks later and pay twice.
If your house is in Lewes, trying to save £200 on a £250,000 house may not make good financial sense. Especially, if a fire or flood could be attributed to the uninsured "handyperson."
I am not trying to be a scare monger, but I just read my post and I think that is how it comes across, so I am. I just wasn't "trying to be one".

QUOTE OF THE MOMENT
If you lend someone £20 and don't see them again it was probably worth it.
