I'd just like to send my commiserations to all Manchester United fans on the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo. There's always a bigger fish and all that.

I know this has nothing to do with Lewes but wondered what those people who watch the football in the Ellies think? They all have London accents but seem happy to cheer on the Northerners.

Are they DFMs?

Footballers think only about money, no matter how many times they 'kiss the badge' a la Frank Lampard. Prime example being Ashley Cole. When he left arsenal they were a team capable of winning trophies (though not now of course) so he didn't leave to join a better team. Fans must accept that the players are only there for the money, and if a better offer comes along then they're off.
Without Ronaldo, united may not thrash your team at home quite so heavily next season, should they meet in the CL. A crumb of comfort for you.

Or maybe she's a petulent showboating little cheat who spends too much time feigning injury in the penalty area.
Loyalty's a 2 way thing though, not many clubs demonstrate loyalty to players past their prime.

I dunno, Man U in particular have held on to players they've had a while long past their chances of getting first team football in the past although that's perhaps because they couldn't get any money selling them on.
I would imagine Ronaldo's main reason for leaving is the 10% share of the transfer fee he's likely to pick up.

I think it's obscene that this amount of money is washing around in premiership football while non league teams like Lewes and many others go under for the sake of the equivalent of the loose change in Ronaldos pocket.

I like to see after my own favourite team, British people doing well where ever they are from! In recent years the media have enjoyed stirring it between different parts of the country. This same media however frowns when opposition is shown to foreign teams and nations! We can only hate our own according to them, its safer and Mandy wants us to join the Euro! Most people think World Cup hero Geoff Hurst is a southerner, yet he was born just outside Manchester! Let the Brits fight amongst themselves, while our enemies take over! Well done UKIP by the way!
