So just how high does the weeds have to get before those trolls in the council get organised ?? Only been cut once this year and it's mid June.

It's good to see the verges left to grow wild, think of all those bugs and worms etc., that thrive in such an environment, and of the other animals that feed off these. The central reservation as you go down Lewes Road Brighton looks particularly nice at the moment. If the verges are a danger to the vehicles using them, then yes, let's get them trimmed back, but otherwise, live and let live !!

I agree with Pete, can't see the problem with a the verges growing wild. Looks quite nice, bit like a meadow.

My little girl loves to play in all the wild flowers on the grass verges. They're like meadows to her.

I think you'll find that's the fault of lazy dog owners rather than grass verges?! The doggie doo would be there whatever the length of grass!

They have just cut the verges on Malling. My 6 year old could have done a better job with a blunt pair of scissors. Poorly cut, and clumps of cut grass everywhere. Absolutely useless. May as well have left it as a meadow.
If you are reading this 'council powers that be'....sack your grass cutters. They are as effective as a ice fire poker.

get your facts correct ! there have been cut backs on highway budgets this year.
So don't blame the contractors they have been told to do the basics only, so no second cuts just a quick short back n sides.
They would rather spend the money on some crap Olympic tour than our towns and cities.
With tuffs of grass would your lawnmower cut grass at a foot high and leave no tuffs, clumps etc..
So next time you see a contractor nod n smile if he or she is working rather than bitching..
Regards your friendly grass cutter

For the people living on Malling, why don't you just cut the bloody thing yourself if you don't like it that much. We have always cut it ourselves I have lived in Malling all my life and we always do it when we cut our own lawn, its a 2 foot wide 15 foot long piece of grass it doesn't take long.

Verges in Prince Edwards Road were cut on Monday. Grass cuttings and other debris strewn all over just waiting for the next downpour to wash it down the already blocked or partly blocked drains on the Offham Road!
