Jade Goody died this morning at 3.14.
I didn't like her much, but at 27,it seems too young to die.
The cervical smear rate has rocketed thanks to her,and surely the age for regular screening should now be lowered...
Thanks to her high profile death, she has raised money for her 2 sons.
Hate to say it but...RIP Jade.
Please,no awful jokes.

I don't know much about Jade, she wasn't a celebrity here, but it is a sad situation. I want to know if the vaccination against the human papilloma virus is given free to teenage girls in the UK now, and if so, how long has it been on offer for? The campaign has just started here (NZ) this month and is offered free to teenage girls.

Who is everyone?Do not include me in that.I am aware that people die every day from this terrible illness, but the fact is, whether you like it or not she was funny and entertaining, and I sort of understand why she went public(money for her boys education and, hope lessons could be learnt. Were you aware that prior to her own illness,Jade was learning how to help women disguise the fact that their eyebrows etc was missing? It would appear that her sad demise has in fact, sent young women to clinics, surgerys etc.in their droves.

While reading all you lot slaggin me off, I saw ads under here. One says. Jade Goody. Get the latest updates on Jade's health w/the free Celebrity tool bar. The other ad is for Plumbers merchants. Try this plumbers merchant for pipes, pumps and plumbing sundries.
Now dont get me wrong but is someone else doing the jokes here?

Bluewave it would not do for us all to like the same things now would it? What a boring world that would be eh!I am all for free choice,I just find it hard to understand some people on here who thought it appropriate to make stupid and ignorant jokes and make nasty comments.

Of course, I will defend to the death your right to your own opinion. Free choice is a wonderful thing. I personally disliked Jade Goody but then again thousands liked her and still do. Not got a problem with that. And yes people who post vile comments and jokes about a very real and deadly disease are messed up in the head. They're not even worth responding to.

It is great that something positive has come out of her life, but really she was a pig-ignorant, self-obsessed, manufactured persona, hell bent on making as much money as she could out of her undeserved "celebrity"... with no pride, shame or insight.
If she had any value (apart from the increased take up of cervical smears amongst the fleetingly impressionable) then it was to bring into even clearer relief just what a devalued and sad society we have built for ourselves, obsessed and manipulated by image, lacking substance and with no real or worthwhile values.

Cato and I think MC is full of s***! She was a 27 year old mother of two apart from anything else and that is just too young to die! Her 'undeserved celebrity' was given to her by members of the public, you can not become famous just because you want to, people gave her that status. And yes she has done a lot of good for several causes.
A lot of people were interested in her because she came from a working class background, her upbringing didn't look like too much fun and people could relate to her. Perhaps she should have apoligised for offending you by not having a public school background!!

Why not simplify it to every soldier. If you want to purpetuate the class system then so be it, however I do not.

To be honest her upbringing wasn't working class. She had a God awful, appalling upbringing with no education to speak of with a vile lesbian mother who beat her and a drug addict father who died in the toilet of a fast food outlet at 42. He was also a pimp who hid guns in Jades cot when she was a baby. Even when he was alive Jade only saw him in prison from the age of 4. Jades mother gave her marijuana at the age of 5. She worked s a'clipper' pretending to procure prostitutes for a client and then running off with money. Jade knew about these sorts of words but not how to add up, or read or write. That's not what I call working class. She was thick as a plank, shallow to some degree and had some views which were racist. But she did knew it and she tried to be better I think. She was only 21 when she became famous. She tried to be a better mum than her's was. She forgave her vile scummy mother over and over, despite the things she had done to her. I think we can forgive Jade for a lot of what she was, because I she was born into filth and she at least tried to be better. I found her irritating and shallow but you'd have to be pretty ugly and callous not to feel pity for her.

My first awareness of Jade Goody was on Big Brother (in fact I stopped watching the show about that time) and my impression was that she was repellent and offensive.
However, her demise has been rapid and incredibly public. I feel that she showed tremendous bravery and dignity re her terminal illness. Her contribution to 21st Century Britain is quite remarkable and, if she had lived a bit longer, I would have been in a queue to shake her hand and congratulate her.
She believed in Heaven and had herself Christened recently - I sincerely hope she achieved her dreams.

Jade has done a fantastic job of promoting screening of cancer etc and i applaud her for that but I wonder if a ordinary couple from say Lewes in same sittuation boyfriend in jail etc would he be given the same treatment jack was by being realeased on tag. ?
Also had a couple of text messages saying jade had passed and to text ten people plus the person who sent it to show support.
Now wouldnt it be better if a text costs 12p x 11 £1.32 if everyone donated
1.32 to cancer relief to show support rather than linning the mobile networks pockets.
rant over
rest in peace jade.

But did she promote screening? I never in all the time she was ill, heard her say in interviews that women should go for screening. I think women just identified with her and thought that if someone with her money and her age could get cancer than anyone could . I don't know of any other celebrity that has died from this form of cancer, whereas so many have suffered with breast cancer. Perhaps we have got a bit blase about that. It is comendable that she made women think about going for regular smear tests, but she wasn't exactly out on the campaign trail was she? I feel incredibly sorry for her children, but this public outpouring of grief is starting to get a bit pathetic now. I understand that she is going to have a public funeral, with big screens outside the church. I can understand her trying to make money for her boys with the wedding etc, but the funeral?????? All a bit undignified, why can't her children grieve in peace.
