How typical of the indolent and selfish French to be protesting and causing trouble over their government’s employment law reforms. Why shouldn’t they be made to work longer hours? This is the curse of running a business, you’re always going to be vulnerable to employees who don’t like being pushed harder and harder in one’s pursuit of eternal profit growth.
I honestly don’t know why they don’t just drop their pantalons, bend over and let offshore business leaders decide their employment laws, like we do in the UK.
When we finally get out of the EU, we’ll be allowed to give up more and more employment rights – with any luck we’ll soon be as competitive in the manufacturing industry as Chinese and Indian workers.

I don't understand what's going on. The French have changed their employment laws? I thought ALL laws were now made in Brussels and that national sovereignty had been abolished. Obviously not.

Without a hint of irony the gravy-train 'Remain' campaign insists, that the EU "defends and protects workers rights" while at the very same time the EU tells workers in Greece, that a six-day-working-week must be introduced as the new norm.

Well the Greeks shot themselves in the foot - they deserve to work hard to reduce the ridiculous debt.

The French were unfortunate enough not to have had a Joan of Arc in the form of Maggie Thatcher. She taught the working class in this country that it is worthless and that it should be grateful for what it is given. We can see the beneficial results of that lesson for those of us who have the talent to be shareholders. French workers will no doubt learn their lesson but it will take a long struggle to bring them to heel. Envy is the curse of the working class.

I have just spoken to Joan and we both agree you should take a history lesson. Kind regards, Margaret.
