I've just moved to Lewes and this is a speculative email to see if anyone else is interested in fly fishing and tying? I've been tying for a few years now and would be happy to teach beginners, learn patterns and generally geek out about fishing in a pub, possibly on a monthly basis if there is any interest? If anyone replies I will arrange a pub and a date.

I have not been Fly Fishing for a bit of time, I would love to learn to make my own flies. if there are few interested in learning and talking about fishing, I would be more than happy for you to use Lewes Working Men's Club for places to meet up.

Great, Sussex Fly tiers Guild look super organised, probably best to rule out thursday evenings to avoid a clash. Interesting that you tie and don't fish, Kingfisher, especially with a name like that! Thanks Daniel for the offer of the club, let's see how much interest this gets. There are such a lot of good pubs n Lewes, it might be good to try a few places? I've been tying bg pike flies this week, I've heard tales of giant pike up at Barcombe and I'm sure one of them has my name on it!

Great. My suggestion is wednesday night in the King's head from half 7. Is anyone free for this wednesday? I know it is short notice! I will be there sitting in a corner with a vice, probably covered in feathers! As for books... there are a few good ones. I'm a bit of a fan of Oliver Edwards for trout flies although they are a bit of a faff....
