This isn't Lewes based but I feel credit is due to GENES REUNITED part of Friends Reunited group it's fantastic and well worth a look if anyone is interested in building a family tree if you know a lot about your family tree
it won't cost you a penny but if you pay £35 you can get access to birth, death marriage and war records very usefull.
Also if you build your tree and a name appears in it which is the same as a person in another tree with the same dob they tell you and you can contact them.
just thought when you find something like this you should share it.

Pfffft, I looked at it and it wanted me to do all the work!!!!,
It does little more than my address book and a sheet of A4 would.

I've been a member of this website for some years now - it's very good (although I have not been able to find my children).

I thought you moved house while your children were out trick and treating one year, Spinster? I think they're still looking for you.

I got in touch with an Uncle and an Aunt(Still living!) through this site, though I haven't paid for full access, it has started up communication where there was none for 30 years or so. Turns out he's a great grandfather now and I have cousins, second cousins etc coming out of me ears. It's quite interesting, he's done a lot of the work so I get the benefit of that. I'd say it was a good site.

I went on to this site and within days I had traced my mothers family back to 1750, by being linked to other trees. It is a great site for trying out ancestry.
