Electoral fraud complaint investigated by Sussex Police

From the section Sussex
BBC Sussex are reporting that electoral skullduggery in Lewes is under scrutiny;
"Allegations of electoral fraud in the 2015 General Election are being investigated by Sussex Police following complaints about the Conservative campaign.
The Liberal Democrats have complained the campaign in the Lewes constituency may have broken election rules.
A police spokesman confirmed an investigation has begun.
Conservative candidate Maria Caulfield beat the sitting Lib Dem MP Norman Baker in last year's election."
It is alleged that expenses incurred locally are not fully declared in accordance with the rules, and treated as a national campaign expense.

Let’s hope the loyal Conservatives in our legal system find a way around this, we don’t want to have to void the results like Tower Hamlets did when Labourite Lutfur Rahman was caught.
I’d suggest that senior Tories get to work immediately on their threats to ruin the careers of anybody who looks too hard into it.

Oh dear, Norman Baker supporters club throwing their toys out of the pram yet again.
In case you didn't notice Lib Dems lost big time across most of the South East. The result in Lewes wasn't that close ether. People got fed up with storming Norman and his Lib Democrats prattling endless tripe.
Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

No. We won't just get over it. If someone got in by foul means then it should be investigated.

Your going to have to dismantle your Norman Baker shrine cos he's retired from politics ( have a look in your Lib Democrats comics)
I sincerely doubt the election results will be declared void - a slap on the wrist perhaps and that will be that.
Norman 's irksome band of worshippers just can't accept their idol has gone. ( It was high time he went anyway !)

This I think I think is part an initial Channel news investigation. There are police forces all over England investigating possible malpractice. It's certainly not just a local affair.

Where did I say get Baker back? Pay more attention please. I just want the useless Tory floozy out.

If I’m reading this correctly, Tories think that the fraud was only committed as an insurance in case the result was a close one, and we should all forget about it because the margin was high.
And they wonder why they’re hated so much by decent, honest people.
A Sham democracy.

The Lib Dems lost in Lewes because of their national weaknesses, u-turns on student fees, voters outside of the town and the greens.
I'll put a tenner on a Lib Dem resurgence next time we get to vote. It's just a shame Norman who did more in a week than Caulfield has done since she was elected isn't still in the running.

Jeff, you're forgetting the elephant in the room. The Labour party, despite its exclusion from the London press gang is continuing to gain ground. It is the only option that now offers decency and integrity.

Wakey wakey Jeff, It's not just about Lewes - "voters outside of the town" are part of the constituency ie parts of Walden, Seaford, Newhaven and lots of villages in between. Obviously your Lib Democrats comics don't mention this..duuuhhh.
We were well overdue for a change and people voted that way. If miracles occur and Lib Dems get in again then hopefully we won't be stuck with another Norman "clone".

Come on! Norman Baker did a sterling job as a Local MP until he took on a nicely paid cabinet role and backtracked on his principles.
