I couldn't think why so a friend came up and tested all my appliances with a meter that you plug into the wall,then plug your appliance into,and you can then see how many units you use.
It turned out it was my TV,which I upgraded a few months ago.
(I used to have a 19" and found a 28")
What we noticed however was that the TV on standby used very little electricity whereas my digi box on standby uses almost as much as when it is turned on.(I always turn off everything at the wall at night anyway.)
Also my laptop also uses as much when it is on standby as it does when it is turned on...
Just thought I'd share this with you all.
