Can I propose an effergy for 2015? Typical macho knuckle dragging CBS member with a rookie up his arse? I'd certainly pay to see that.

Since when were the Scots a different 'race' to the English. Is someone born in Northumberland or Newcastle, a different race to a Scot born a few miles away?
No. It's all a load of testicles.

We already know exactly what next years effigies will be. They will be Guy Fawkes and Pope Paul V.
As for the tableaux, we can say for sure that they will not feature a Waterloo tab - they will feature something that is topical, or something with a significant anniversary at the time - whether that be somebody or something popular, or someone or something unpopular.
Just because any person appears on a tableau does not mean that the bonfire society necessarily hates them or wants to see them burnt (which they aren't anyway), and if they happen not to be English, it certainly does not make them racist. They are there because there is a topical relevance which is why we have in the past seen such subjects as St George, Royals, Nelson, Battle of Britain etc..
Pity there are so many people unwilling/unable to grasp this simple fact.
