Well Bert, what a sad little chap you are to belittle a wonderful event held by true Lewes people to raise money for an extremely worthy cause. Hope the Eastenders omnibus was worth it!

Don't claim Lewesianship myself as mother wandered off to Brighton to have me, but there were several born and bred Lewesians down there yesterday and the majority were proper Lewes folk. And the few that weren't were more than welcome and raised nearly £600 for leukemia research.

Depends what you mean by true Lewes people. I don't think you have to be a Lewesian to be a true Lewes person. I think a true Lewes person turns up, does there bit has a bloody good time and raises money for others. And I did.

Correction Umpire, with a last minute donation they raised over £600. Not sure what all this bother over true Lewesian status is about, some people have been here for generations and I wish they hadn't, others have just turned up to the party late and I wish they'd been here for years.
The main common factor about Lewesians seems to be we like the town we live in and love to complain about it and it's inhabitants and everything that happens here.
Still, wouldn't change where I live for the world.
