Just like to say to whoever shot one of the ducks in the pond that they are scum. Hope they get what's coming which, considering there is a CCTV camera looking at that location, is probably quite soon!....happy new year to all

What is wrong with this town of late? Are things that bad here that people have to be so vile?

I hope this story makes it off the forum and into the local press. Over the past 3 months there has been more and more crime around the pells area, and little is being done about it.

Sorry for the last post. The story made it to the bbc.
Wonder if it is the same group responsible for the increase in car crime in the area. I hope they get caught.
What is happening to our town?

Check it out here »

So, first we have one poster on another thread blaming Britain's economic problems solely on foreign immigrants and now we have another blaming crime in the Pells area on everyone living on a nearby estate. Great start to 2012.

.Hard not to blame that estate when a path of car vandalism usually leads from the town centre straight to it. Still best be good liberal minded boys and stick our heads in the sand. Afterall probably just over excited bored youths. Will put my on my rose tinted specs and imagine that everyone is lovely

So frodo, you're blaming me for half the crime in Lewes. As you are pointing your finger at "that estate", you obviously think everyone who lives there are criminals.

Nice

Clifford get your facts right, no one on the other thread blamed Britians economic problems solely on foreign immigrants, so stop stirring things up. Now doubts your fellow bigots will jump on the bandwagon.

Persecuted, put your house in order!
I never said that everyone who lived their was a criminal, just thats where the criminal element Comes from based on the evidence. Follow the lines on keyed cars from last thursday night if you want to, i hope the police are doing that.

So are the lines going in the direction of someone going to landport who may live there or just visit from another area or are the lines going away from landport and someone who may have just visited, walked through or indeed lives there.
maybe the vandal lives in the pells area and wanted a pint up the tally ho. Maybe the vandal is an 80 year old woman who hates cars.

Soooo many scenarios yet you find it hard "not to blame that estate"

"Trail cameras" as used for filming wildlife, could be concealed easily in the area. Self contained with motion detectors and infra red lights they record any movement in their field of view day and night. Prices on eBay start at about £100. Probably infringes someone's human rights though!

Firstly was the duck a male , if so it may have been one that got away from a cull which i have heard is carried out by a local in the early hours, The reason for this is that there are too many males down there and they are killing the females while mating, I know its shocking but it is something that will be needed now and then to protect the whole flock .
If it was a female then find the git and break his legs.
BTW, I think you would find the local lads would head in the direction of Landport woods and the hills for birds and Rabbits rather than the pells ,I have not seen anyone walking past my house with a gun towards the Pells And only know of two boys who hunt and they would not shoot Pells ducks, I would look for a lad from the town, one where the pells is the only option for shooting, forget the outer estates

A reply to Stigs had a dump, I do believe you and Clifford are the same, otherwise why are you sticking up for him, unless of course you havent a mind of your own. Also that insane laugh halfway through your thread, that is scary and makes me wonder if you are on medication. Anyway happy new year to you and regards to Clifford

Alternatively, there are people who disagree with you. I realise that wrenching your mind out of its rut must be hard but give it a try.

We do suffer from bigotry. I agree that shooting a duck on the Pells is wrong and the culprit should be caught and punished. However how many of you ate Turkey at Xmas? It could be seen as the same crime. Discuss.

If the culprit had shot and eaten the duck, there would seem to be a purpose for what he did. As it is, it was wanton cruelty.

It's not the same at all killing an animal as quickly and humanly as possible for food is totally different to shooting a duck in the neck with a dart then sodding off a leaving it to suffer.
