It`s no good getting into a moral panic about drugs.People have always wanted to get off their faces one way and another.People that become addicted have psychological problems that very often they cannot get help with so they self medicate.Junkies are not that different from most of us just a little more damaged.Alcohol, tobacco etc are just legal not necessarily morally or psyically better than other less socially acceptable alternatives.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I'm a honest hard working bloke early 30's, mortgage, mrs etc ( before assumptions) and do on occasion enjoy a large bifta. After a rough day nothin like kicking back, tunes on, smoke. Done! No different from enjoying a large wine or beer for the same reason. Only difference is a lot cheaper to get half cut and no hangover! Top banana!

Here, hear. Respectable family man with good job, property etc. Over half a century old and still enjoy the odd puff, e or line of coke (even tried a few of the modern pharmaceuticals). Moderation and quality is the key (and the wonderful Silk Road ensures best quality... and anonimity). Am certain that alcohol does our society much more damage than all other drugs combined.

Magic mushroom season soon..... :-)

Good to know that the drug industry has not been the cause of at least eight deaths in Lewes that I can think of as well as many cases of lives destroyed by psychosis, illegal activity and unemployability.

"Its a fact" If your response is about the previous drug thread on this form then I think
you have misread the real issue . People are not in a moral panic with drugs as you put it but rather they are concerned about particular drug dealers in Lewes. I have used drugs recreationally myself but I certainly wouldn't want to get involved with those scumbags.

Another 50+ years old here. Pretty normal life, job, interests and hobbies, grand children etc. Love the odd puff and occasional e. Many of my friends are the same. It's not a big deal.
As as youth I saw a few people harmed by drugs, since then the problems I've seen have always been due to alcohol and usually ended up ripping apart families.

Using the odd recreational drug is hardly comparable to pushing heroin to screwed up and vulnerable kids! I am afraid there can be no room for romance around the couple that have been brought up on this forum on many occasions!

Not all drugs are bad.
Most drugs are harmless when used responsibly - that includes alcohol and heroin. The problem is some people are not responsible users - and that too includes alcohol and heroin.
The world is not black & white, only a Daily Mail reader would think it is.
