a lady who lives in Hamsey was burgled over the weekend, and had a lot of family treasures stolen (jewelry, presumably) so she called the police this morning.
Meanwhile, there had been a report of a 'gang of yooves' spotted pulling over in their car on the bridge and dropping something into the river. The licence plate was noted, but at the time nothing more was thought of it.
The police put two and two together this morning, put a call out on the car's licence plate, found and arrested said yooves, and fished the family jewels back out of the river to reunite them with their owner.
Good job all round, Sussex Police.
