Been to dentist who wants £1400 for root canal treatment - apparently it has to be private as isn't covered on nhs.
Is this really the case...must be able to get this on nhs?

Absolute nonsense. I got the same story from Albion Street dentist (who do a deal with their mate in North St). I was with Dr Royce for 30 years.
Went to the dentist above Monsoon got it done for £39 plus price of a new crown (about £200 I think it was).

North Street are an absolute con. Overcharge and tell us that stuff cant be done on NHS- turns out anything can be done. Failed to notice bad decay.
Appaling having been a patient for over 20 years. now feel as an nhs patient they dont care and will charge what they want. NHS has standard prices.
Does anyone know a decent dentist???

I am the worlds biggest scaredy cat when it comes to dentists but Jenny Ching is so so good and kind and careful. I really don't mind going now. Cheers Jenny

Are they registering NHS patients, does anyone know? The practice on School Hill make you wait three months if you're a new NHS patient, which feels slightly like a ploy to persuade you to go private because they certainly have appointments (I asked).

The high street dentists do have a waiting list because they are so busy,
This is not surprising as they are so good and very honest.
I see mr kell on the nhs but think the other dentists see most nhs patients
What I like is if I have a problem they always do their best to see you.
A really friendly place .
Worth the wait of you cannot go private.
