I think cyclists should be charged to use the road, here's my plan... One time charge, say £150 the bike and rider are registered with the dvla and a number plate is issued. Without a plate bikes can't ride on the road, with a plate we at least stand a chance of being able to report the bad ones! Who's with me?

Something in the order of 20000 people are killed or seriously injured every year in road accidents of which cyclists are responsible for zero. Drivers don`t know what its like to cycle whereas cyclists are also drivers and able to compare. That’s why we know the blame is 100% with drivers .
Lewes is especially full of people who should not be allowed behind the wheel of a toy pedal care, never mind the variety of four wheel drive monsters bored out suicide machines and dented hatch backs for the women who cannot park .
To enter the Aldi car park is to dice with death
The cyclists of Lewes are , on the other hand polite thoughtful people with rock hard buttocks and attractive smiles
Anything we can do to get people out of planet destroying , brain warping automobiles and on to healthy social bikes is good (and anything that has the reverse effect bad.)..

PS When are they going to make driving a foot behind your back bumper illegal , and undertaking … these people have two scoops of crazy with nuts on top.

'Responsible for zero'? Nosense (like the female parking comment). Troll alert. Cyclists behave how they like with impunity. 'dangerous cycling' 'cycling without due care and attention' they sound like joke phrases don't they? But cyclists are as irresponsible and thoughtless as the population as a whole. Ie not very, but with a minority who behave badly. But because they aren't accountable their behaviour goes unmoderated and becomes exaggerated. My pet hate- cyclists who don't make themselves visible. (It's an offence to drive a car without lights when they are required...).
And why the assumption that drivers don't know what is like to cycle? Surely almost all of us, drivers or not, have cycled on roads at some point?

I have cycled for many years and during those years I always observed the Highway Code (Ish) and even now whilst driving a car I still do the same (Ish) Forget what you were taught in the driving lessons to pass the test, The proper way to cycle, drive, ride or walk on the pavement or road is all there in the Highway Code booklet.
The reason for my rambling is . . . I was recently first in line at the Grammar School end of the bottleneck, The lights went to green, I proceeded forward and I then indicated to the right and I then pulled over to the right just before the Brewers Pub and stopped outside the Bull House to pick up a disabled friend.
As I got out of the car, A madman with a two week shadow on his gob and on two wheels complained to me with rude expletives and words . . . "Cnut etc! You just drove straight into my path" I simply replied . . . Yea I did, But it was you that just ran a red light! . . . So please pedal pushers, Dont take the Piss. Read the Highway Code.
