Opened last night. Looking to go there in a month, can you post your experiences, good or bad on here. I notice they haven't got a website yet so I presume they don't do deliveries.
Looking forward to giving this place a go.

I picked up a leaflet in a Lewes pub yesterday. They deliver within a 3 mile radius. Their website is WWW.currycottagelewes.co.uk

You have now had no less than ten thumbs down, Kingfisher, and I have had five for simply posting what I thought to be a useful piece of public information. I can only assume that these negative opinions have been placed by rival restauranteurs.

You may be right private eye......
Saw a lot of Shanaz guys there. Same sort of theme and feel to the main dining area too. I'm going to ask Ali when I see him Saturday.

Shan't be touching it with a barge pole if it's anything like the tasteless, watery cr@p they serve at the Shanaz

Yeah I'm sure both places will go bust without your evil custom Edna.....
I enjoyed the food at the Cottage and love the Shanaz as do all my family and friends. So according to you half the town likes tasteless watery cr@p?

Seriously, you Southerners know absolutely nothing about a good curry.
As much as I love living in Lewes, there isn't a decent curry house anywhere in or near the town. Spice Merchant when it opened was pretty ok and has gone slowly don hill over the years.
Shanaz - this is a puzzler, lovely staff and the food is ok, the way people rave about it shows some blind loyalty and a lack of experience on what a decent curry tastes like.
Chaulas - an acquired taste, but not your traditional curry (in the uk sense)
I was looking forward to trying the cottage, but if it's just the same as Shanaz (which is fine, but just not great) I'm disappointed.

When will you guys understand that we all have different palates!!!!!
None of you have any right to judge mine anymore than I yours. Get a life and if northern currys are better, go there every Friday and leave the rest of us to our sorry ass bad taste!!!!!! Aarrrggghhhhh
