Group of yobs apparently walked through landport to the pells to malling and systematically ruined anything in their path.
We had 2 wing mirrors snapped off, there were more up our street, plant pots were thrown into gardens and smashed, more wing mirrors broken in the pells, more in malling, a car was over turned in malling and more plant pots smashed in malling.
Surely someone saw or heard them.
Please phone the police if you did, we are all getting sick and tired of this now.

If it was the same group as last week, they are about 14. Seriously why are 14 year olds out at 1 and 2am? equally I know the police have a couple of surprises waiting, So It shouldn't be too long before they are caught. Personally give everybody who has suffered damage a stick and an address of one of the offenders. I'm sure the parents would do more if they knew that their car would be smashed up as a punishment.

If anything has happened to you, your house or your car then please please report it to the police. It helps them track things and also gets resources... I am not sure why people act like this especially when life is so tough at the moment.

Reported to the police as soon as we found the damage.
talking to neighbours, there appeared to have been two groups that evening...or maybe just the one that went past twice.
One group...about 15 strong went from landport to malling at about 1-30-2.30am and then another group, or the original group returned at about 3.30 and went into landport.

so long as we act as individuals these kids will be free to run riot in Lewes. How about a tweet #protectourlewes where we can notify others about what's going on at the time and if necessary protect our property directly as a collective? Ideas please as I'm totally sick of wondering what the little darlings are going to break next.

Maybe the answer is to impose a curfew on Landport estate?

How about the Police actually being available and turning up when the crime is taking place? How about regular foot patrols making a comeback so that Police are on the ground with eyes and ears open?

Yes you are silly. Seeing as they started up Prince Edwards can we then impose a curfew there. They were up malling street, does that mean we can impose a curfew on Ringmer????. @old
Malling, looks like the whole of Malling is getting a curfew. In fact there has been damage all over town, can we not just curfew all the kids under the age of 18? I've seen adults behave just as bad, does that mean we can give all adults a curfew?
Same old typical Class bullsh*t. Stop hiding behind outdated and frankly childish stereotypes. It's boring and about as intelligent as the very people you seem to think you are morally superior to.

sam spam, you say contact each other at the time it's happening how about dialling 999 and have it dealt with properly
common sense do you think the police are mind readers and know where the yobs will be also if you went out at night you would see the police on foot in the town

A while ago there were some drunken teens yelling, standing on cars and ripping off wing mirrors on the Nevill. I called the police straight away, nada.
I called them again when the damage got worse and was told by a snotty woman that they had more important things to deal with at midnight on a Saturday than a bit of vandalism.
I found out the next day that 2 of my neighbours had also called them, and one of them had gone out and remonstrated with them and had a full beer can lobbed at his head for his troubles.
The police finally turned up the following day to see the neighbour who'd been hit with the beer can, and he told them which house they'd been at beforehand. They went and had a word with that lads parents, but as he hadn't been out there himself there was nothing they could do.
I certainly won't bother calling them again.
