Our town efforts are truly rubbish. With some notriceable exceptions of people who have made the effort up and down the High St. My award goes to the Fire training tower, which, even if it isn't to your taste, has made a hideous structure look festive, and especially nice at night. Thank you to whoever did it.

I laughed out loud when I saw the fire station tower - it's brilliant!
A couple of years ago, I had occasion to visit Rye just after Christmas. They had traditional multi-coloured Christmas lights strung across the high street and it looked fab. It's a tiny little town, but they'd made a big effort, I don't see why Lewes can't.

Yes, and even the 'oh its too expensive' excuse is wearing thin. In a town jammed full of so-called creative people you would think everyone wouuld make an effort, even if it involves tin foil, cotton wool and a light bulb. Might actually be fun. I have been to street parties where they have made more effort. Here's a concept. A bit of investment might make Lewes the "must visit" charming historic xmas shopping destination for those into the whole twinkly light, Victorian Xmas thing. Even the Archers understand this concept.! Hooray again, for the fire station tower, and all the people that have made the effort.Perhaps someone should ask them how they did it.

There's a giant inflatable Santa in Wivelsfield. Next to a giant inflatable ice bear and a smaller inflatable baby ice bear. Just a short drive from Lewes. ACT, why did it make you laugh? I haven't seen the fire station tower myself but if they have it turned into a large illuminated nob, now that would be funny. Does it warrant a walk down?

It made me laugh in a good way, not in a sneery way - because it's so jolly, and because it's sort of unexpected.
You get an excellent view of it from Tescos car park, and it's worth going to see imo.
Well done to our firefighters, who put the chamber of commerce and town council to shame!

Can anyone post a pic of the fire station tower somewhere that can be accessed please?
