What's this I hear - Lewes council appealing AGAINST the Seagulls at Falmer? - probably 'cos there's nowhere for the visitor's to park in Lewes - (a bid to save the rural nature of Falmer Village's motorway, motorway bridge and university campus perchance?)

What I object to most is that LDC will be spending my council tax fighting something that I want.
How can they do that? How many tax payers in LDC support the stadium? Why don't they just accept it and try and work with BHAFC?
No matter what anyone says Falmer is not a pretty rural village, it is a few houses separated by a dual caariageway on the outskirts of a city.

I also object to my council tax being spent on opposing the new stadium. When my council tax rises way above inflation like it will again this year, i shall be happy in the knowledge that a large chunk of it will be spent helping people who have no right to that financial help. NOT!!

Lewes could make a fortune from this.
Build a big multi story car park, start a park & ride scheme and voila, lots of cash for the community...

Lewes build a multi storey?. hahahahahahahahaha They have been promising one for years. Thats why they knocked down spring gardens all those years ago, and yet we still have a rough ole car park in its place.

The voters will hopefully kick this council out for a blantant waste of taxpayers money.

I coundn't care less about brighton football club with new stadium or without. However, if they do get a nice new big stadium it will only mean that there will be loads more away fans to (a) gloat when they get relegated, and (b) sing the popular anti brighton ditty 'does your boyfriend know you're here?' Now, do you really want that?

For someone who doesn't care about BHAFC you are remarkably well informed Fairy.
I suppose your name gives it away.

They'll never build a multi-storey big enough for the cars that Caffyn's sell anyway - us poor lepers that drive 4x4's (another Liberal gripe) don't get big enough bays on the ground let alone head room in a multi-storey - I've voted Liberal (that shows my age) all my voting life but am now fed up with their approach in this town - Baker started singing out against Falmer the day after the general election urging all "his" councillors to veto it (even though some were actually for it in the pre election junk-mail propaganda)- why doesn't this action now surprise me - why don't they spend the money that'll be wasted on the flood defences - oh sorry I don't want to start another line of whinging

If you've voted Liberal all your life your now getting what you deserve from an inept and out of touch council. Lets get everybody out on Tuesday to sign the petitions and see if this blinkered lot will at last take notice of the residents it's SUPPOSED to represent. Ha Ha Ha
