Walking down the Cliffe on Wednesday I saw 2 business men and one traffic warden yelling and arguing in front of Louis Potts & Co, then a minute later a police car turned up with sirens blaring. I overheard that someone got their toes run over by a car... Can anyone elaborate? Did someone run over a traffic warden's foot?

From what I was told one of the local traders had his toes run over, the car stopped and the driver ran off leaving a car full of parking wardens. If I didn't trust the source of this info I would have just laughed but it true.

The Driver didn't run off, I live in cliffe and saw what happened, NCP car hit Louis Pott's juniour's foot and driver got out tried to offer to get an ambulance and the Pott's went off on one due to their uniform, supervisors for NCP then came rushing down got everyone seperated until the police arrived and now i believe it's in their hands, it was an accident on Potts junior part, he didn't look when he walked out into the road. The driver was broken up, crying on the side the road

If there was no fascist NCP ruling this would have never happened in the first place. Blame the resident? What planet are you on? Driver has to look out for pedestrians. Ever heard of it?

"Fascist.." nice. No need to call them that, they're just doing their job.
"Driver has to look out for pedestrians. Ever heard of it?" Yep. But when someone steps out in the middle of the road in front of a car, that isnt the fault of the driver, its called an ACCIDENT. Ever heard of it?

Shows what you know, I heard from good authority Potts senior once shouted at the fire brigade for asking him to move his van so they could check a hydrant. He's also squared up to & shouted at the police for going into his shop to introduce himself. I can't believe he's on the chamber of commerce, shows what kind of people they are.

erm...no I don't think its anything to do with the ncp staff, if somebody is stupid enough to walk out in the road in front of a car then they're going to be hit sooner or later!!

"they're just doing their job". hhhhhmmm sounds familiar to an excuse that others once used. Not the greatest choice of comeback to someone calling them fascist

Just before Christmas I met a nice traffic warden. I was just about to park on a "permit only" bay, and he pointed out my mistake. My colleague had already parked there, and he let me ring her to come and move her car, rather than give her a ticket.
I thought that was really decent of him. They're not all nasty.

Yeah most of them are really nice. I've had that happen to me too, they will let you move before giving you a ticket. A couple of them helped that old guy that fell over and cracked his head open near west street car park. Shame people don't wana see the good things they do and are fixated on the bad instead.

Isn't it pedestrian priority in the Cliffe while the road's being dug up? Anyway, I've heard the NCP manager who shouted and spat at Potts & Son has been suspended.
