In the wake of recent revelations in Rotherham, can the labour party ever be trusted to run anything again?

Yes. Unfortunately all parties have scandals, it is what happens when people with a lot of responsibility are crap or dodgy. There is the scandal relating to how Mrs Thatchers Govt handled child abuse allegations in the 80's , or the Libs and their handling of Cyril Smith allegations. Its a disgrace. Next discussion please.

Urghh... Just plain silly. It would make nearly as much logical sense to blame the Labour Party for how the weather was during the last time they formed a government. 3/10 - I say, must try harder.

The Labour Party began their betrayal of the working classes years ago. Their mission is almost complete.
It hasn't been a Labour Party for years but a motley collection of self serving power hungry loons. Most of them still fiddling their expenses (all within legal bounds but they know exactly what they're doing) in between going on holiday.
2014 pseudo Labour well reflected but the bloke above Mark who in his own few words reveals the superior I know best attitude as per our patronising "representatives" in Parliament
The most rotten awful bunch on all sides of the house I have ever seen in my life 30 years of which were spent as a member of the Labour Party (never again)

Rotherham: In the face of such evil, who is the racist now?
Let’s start with a riddle. If South Yorkshire Police can mount a raid on Sir Cliff Richard’s home in pursuit of evidence linked to a single allegation of child sex abuse 30 years ago, why were South Yorkshire Police incapable of pursuing multiple allegations against multiple men who raped 1,400 children over 16 years?
Worth reading.

They and the media are too busy telling us the Rotherham rapists were "mainly" of Pakistani origin.
They must know something we don't because the only convictions have been of people all of Pakistani origin.
Never been one to believe in conspiracy theories but then does seem to be a silence in certain aspects of this dreadful affair - much like in similar cases all over the UK.
PS Cue the mob screaming racist etc etc blah blah zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Quite and according to the Jay report it, amongst other things ,the fear of getting out of line with the PC Police that allowed this to go on for so long.

Metatron - we certainly can't trust Labour in Rotherham, or the police, or the social workers. And the Tories, after the revelations of Thatcher's close friendship with Savile and the cover-up of paedophiles close to the party - can we trust the Tories again. And Rennard and his wandering hand, and Thorpe and the dog incident - can we trust the Lib Dems again?

Thats called whataboutery Clifford , its tale of industrial scale evil caused by beetle bureaucrats welfare wastelands and social services who only cared about their pensions .
That is was compounded by the sort of knee jerk political correctness you favour ought to at least give you pause for thought. This was a Labour problem and not the first of its kind
I wonder where that prat in a hat with his jejune sarkarzum is to tell us we ought to understand more and judge less.

There were also people from Kosovo and Romania or somewhere implicated, Old Bloke.
I don't think the race issue is anywhere near as horrifying as the attitude of police officers thinking that an 11-year old girl hadn't been raped because the sex was "consensual" or the general attitude that young girls from troubled backgrounds basically deserved deserved to be treated abusively.
The police did a good job of stonewalling a Home Office researcher who reported on the systematic abuse and exploitation in 2002.
It's worth reading the Alexis Jay report, the full text is available online and it's not very long.

If you'd read my post, Me, instead of indulging in kneejerkism you'd have seen that I criticised Labour. But I added that no political party takes these kinds of things seriously enough - it seems to be in the nature of politicians to ignore what happens to the little people.

The police attitude is disgraceful and stinks but no doubt driven by the same liberal politically correct agenda that insists on shoving multiculturalism down our throats whether we like it or not.
However low the police have sunk as far as I'm concerned it's not as low and nowhere near as horrifying as children suffering rape and those that committed it. You seem to regard that as secondary but I certainly don't.
What disgusts me most of all is that these vile excuses for human being are still walking the streets instead of being locked up for life (many would say hung and I wouldn't disagree) as they should be for foul acts which will have ruined many lives and affected the others for ever.
Look at the figures from all over the country - a crime with a huge majority percentage carried out by Pakistanis - even more disproportionate when compared again their percentage population.
Don't hear of Sikh. Buddhists or Hindus doing it.
