Genuinely recommend a reliable, gas-registered plumber, please? I need my boiler replaced. I can wait for a few months if necessary, as long as its done before the autunm. Thank you.

Try Brian Beckingham on 01273475763. A very good reasonable local plumber. He only works in Lewes, and may have retired. Worth a call.

Roy Clay, aka Cass the Gas, tel 07703 135588.
He's been doing my boiler for years, and is very good and reasonably priced.

I do plumbing in Lewes and use gas engineers to install boilers so I know quite a few.
Derek Wills - "highest rated" but doesn't install boilers but will service them. He is very professional.
Tom Sallis & Stewart Gear. Very good, professional, kinda old school - so slightly more expensive but you wont get leaks that cost you loads in re plastering.
Roy Clay, reliable; does the job, not expensive. He has never said "thanks" for referrals and customers may find him "different."
I also recommend Tony Williams. Good and reasonable. Shows up when he says.
I don't know the others; so can't comment.
Oh, and you will never "save" money by replacing an old boiler with an energy efficient model. The margins are too small, but if you have a boiler that is dying it may work out...

Really helpful, thanks 'plumber'. I'm intrigued by the ungrateful different chap! Got a list to work through now, thanks very much.
