The Tory party wont be debunking the idea of being the nasty party any time soon as there are too many examples in recent times to reinforce the label but this example is just plain stupid. Hot on the heels of Mark Clarke's disgusting behaviour here goes another nasty Tory tactic. Scott Harris, Tory councillor for Portsmouth smears local domestic violence service and women's rights campaigners after they criticize "austerity" cuts to their vital services. Then this childish nasty little boy sends the email intended for other Tory councillors to the intended victims of his smear campaign. I have never been or will be conservative but the good conservatives, and I know they exist, must hate Cameron's methods too and these methods do come from the top down and Cameron is the new king of spin. WAKE UP BRITAIN there's only two camps, good and evil. Cheaters know which camp they're in even if they do spin the opposite.

If this is true, I am horrified. Unfortunately, however much I try to have faith in David Cameron, the words "Bullingham Club" spring to mind. He needs to show he has outgrown the appalling attitude which was shown by members of that yobbish club.

I agree ADT. I suspect history will show that Cameron was more destructive and downright nasty than even Thatcher. A tough act to follow but I think he's done it.

UKIP are just fascism light: the reactionary privileged classes selling themselves as the saviours of the (white) working class. If they actually got into power workers rights would disappear.
Is it any wonder that most of those campaigning to leave the EU want nothing to do with them?

UKIP aren't a right wing party. not if you read their manifesto at any rate, they're pretty socialist in fact, more so than Milliband's Labour party, less so than Corbyn's. Because one of their main, founding precepts was leaving the EU however, they attracted a ton of for want of a better term, massively racist idiots who are themselves naturally right wing. The end result is that UKIP members and supporters don't really know what their own party stands for and everyone else assumes they're all a bunch of small minded, little-Britain types. Shame really as UKIP for a while represented the best chance we had in this country of getting away from a damaging, two party system. As it happens, Corbyn is taking the welcome step of differentiating the Labour party from the Tories and campaigning based on morals and beliefs, not just what a faceless think tank tell him will win an election. He won't win of course but it might mean we move away from an endless stream of identical governments (Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown, Cameron, we've had the same government since 1979).

Our current bunch of deeply unpleasant Tories are riding high on a wave of voter apathy, happy in the knowledge that the people they are forking over the most are the people least likely to vote. It'll only really be in about 15 to 20 years when all the old folk who vote Tory because they've always voted Tory finally die off that the Tories will start to really struggle in elections although it's pretty ironic that this will happen sooner and sooner, the more the Tories dismantle the NHS. As the title says though, they are collectively an exceptionally dumb bunch of people.
