There is racism under the surface in Lewes. A friend was mugged, police of little help no media reporting. The iPad and phone were not recovered even though the whereabouts were known initially from icloud.

Grandma, how does that prove (or even suggest) racism?
Although there is probably racists in every town, I cannot get the connection between what you've put and racism. Are you suggesting if it was a white person mugged then the police would have done more and the media reported it? Should media really report every mugging?
If the objection is with the police and media, I suggest that there is a chance that they do not live in Lewes even if they are reporting or investigating the event.
Perhaps you should try suggesting that there is racism in the police and/or media or just stick with there is at least one mugger in Lewes.

Racism - seen everywhere by bores whose life consists of taking offence on behalf of others where none exists.
Racism/racist - rapidly becoming the country's most over used words and most boring subject.
Those that bang on about it mostly see fit to ignore the plight of many of our elderly, the disgusting employment situation of zero hours contracts, big business generally shafting the working people for every penny it can aided and abetted by politicians of all colours, unemployment itself and the gradual decline of the once wonderful infrastructure of this country.

you're right Old Bloke, there are all the things you mention. And there is racism. The interesting thing is that people concerned about all those things are usually the people concerned about racism too.

Padster, can you give us one example of a time, in Lewes, that you have been personally abused or discriminated against because of your religion? I don't mean generally offended by a tradition you refuse to understand, I mean actually and personally discriminated against, such as would constitute racism or religious intolerance or whatever you want to call it.

It just seems to me that you're determined to feel persecuted when in fact nobody gives two hoots whether you're Catholic or Proddy or Hindu or Wiccan or whatever other label you give yourself. There are just a lot of people in this town who really enjoy a long-standing tradition of processing through town in celebration of living in a free country and part of that is burning in effigy a pope from the 17th Century.

@ padster. You seem to be a bit thick. Your ranting's are all over the place because you're so consumed with venom and hatred for the land and people you seem to have chosen to live amongst.
You are a typical racist bigot. I recognise your disgusting and deluded vitriol from a not too distant past, one that is in danger of rearing its ugly head again, if pathetic fools like your uneducated self could have their foot stamping, toy throwing way.
What's you real motive I wonder?
No real home to go to? No actual friends?
I look forward to your inane reply......
