Please dont give this one money, the one who is hunched over and always looks out of it. He is not licenced to sell the big issue and only uses the money for Heroin. Was caught jacking up on the baby change facilities of a coffee shop in Lewes. Him and his Mrs can often be seen outside charcoal grill in the evening.

And while you're about it don't give any of them any money. Can't quite decided which I hate more, them or the the 'chuggers' in the precinct

How do they get hold of issues of the big issue if they are not licenced to sell it?
I have seen loads of people giving him money if he is the one I am thinking of. He was in Cliffe High St this week and the usual BI seller was strangely absent.

Have called the police...he gets BI's from another BI seller.

He is not homeless either, you need to be homeless to sell BI
Any joy with the police?

Do you think that any of the Lewes Big Issue sellers are homeless? Apart from the junkie many of them seem quite well turned out.
The Asian woman intrigues me.

I am sure they are "shipped" in from elsewhere. At least with people like Hong Kong Dave, you knew they lived in the town.

What's the problem? If you don't want to give them any money, then don't. There seems to be a bit of 'let's all gang up and give him a kicking' going on here.

The person in question is a vile aggressive individual, and users of the forum need to be made aware. He used to sell the Big Issue in Brighton opposite a shop my wife ran, he was constanlty aggressive to her, the staff and most of the shoppers. He was constantly smashed ( and would drink whilst selling the BI) and then take a p**s up the shop wall!
In general Big Issue sellers are very polite and are not a threat - and deserve to be treated with respect. He deserves nothing.

Clifford, the problem is when someone is selling the BI they have a code of conduct or agreement to sign, they are not allowed to drink or take illegal substances whilst selling the BI...my understanding is that he has been "De-badged" because of this (and other things). He gives the genuine BI sellers a bad name. I'm only kicking up a fuss over this because he has been caught supplying alcohol to minors and caught "Jacking up" in a coffee shop chain, as a father of three i would not appreciate changing my youngest daughters nappy in a place where there is a risk of a used needle floating around. Is my problem now explained?

Paul, dear, I'm not sure I would appreciate sitting in a coffee shop next to someone who is changing a baby's nappy. That is not what a coffee shop is for. I am not sure what "jacking up" means, but whatever it is, perhaps he might say in return that the sight and smell of your daughter's nappy quite puts him off his jacking. As, indeed, it would put me off my coffee. Try to find the proper place, dear, and spare us!

Apologies, Paul, I didn't see your first post which makes it clear you were in the proper place at the time. How I wish others were as responsible as you. I am crocheting you a yoghurt and lentil bottle cosy - can also be used for alcoholic drinks.
