To avoid the lengthy queues, simply drive between Ringmer chuch and Earwig corner via Ham lane and the A26.

With so much traffic coming up the A26 in the mornings and pretty much all of Ringmer using Jim's "Shortcut", it's normally quicker to swerve the roadworks by going out the back way down Sadlers Way/Gote Lane then straight into Lewes from there. Shorter distance and 9 times out of 10, actually quicker time-wise as so many people like Jim think the other way is quicker.

If you do decide to come down A26 in to Lewes, please stick to the 30mph limit - we live right on the road and its a bloody nightmare for speeding!

I agree but with idiots llike sussex Jim around who think it's their right to speed and no one enforcing the law, you are on your own. Try parking your car out to slow them down.

@Nigel- and others- I never suggested speed when mentioning alternatives routes into Lewes. I have also tried the Gote Lane route; but one still catches the three-way lights at the end of New Road.
