Take them on a long walk by the river. Or to Hope Gap at low tide.

If you want to take kids then you should try the Nevill Junior Bonfire on Oct 18th. Starts on Highdown Road, Lewes around 18.30

The enquiry is not 'should I bring preschool age kids to bonfire?' (the answer to which is obvious), but 'what should I do with them during the day?'. I'd say Lewes Castle, go to one of our many fine playgrounds (I quite like malling field), maybe a walk by the river as suggested above. Or to keep em really busy (and wear them out!) walk over to Spring Barn Farm and spend the day there. You'll be carrying them home though. (Oh, and steer clear of any groups of youths in striped Guernseys, loitering on street corners!)

Just make sure you don't go to far away by car, otherwise you may find it hard to get back into town as traffic starts to build up mid-afternoon, and roads usually start to be closed around 5pm!
Also, you may find your parking space has been taken by visitors... and don't be tempted to park anywhere you shouldn't or you'll risk having your car towed away.

Go to South Street starts early finishes before others start for an early night!!! Or Borough over in seconds but don't pay watch from racecourse (free entrance) or road then you get to see the other decent displays as well

Love the open invitation! It's great to see a space where people can freely share their thoughts. Looking forward to hearing... more
