Unfortunately our society is in trouble.
We are currently on the search for a new chairperson, vice chairperson, treasurer & fundraising secretary.
If these positions are not filled, there will be no Barcombe Bonfire in 2016.
We are also in need of a new storage and preparation site for the society as we are having to vacate our current premises. No explosives are stored on the site. General committee members and help fundraising throughout the year are always needed too.
If you feel you could help in any way, no matter how small, no matter how much or how little experience, please attend the meeting at 8pm at The Royal Oak in Barcombe tonight. It would be great to see some new faces. We look forward to seeing you to help the tradition of bonfire endure in Barcombe for another generation.
Thank you for your continued support,

I'm a member of a Lewes Society. I can't volunteer for any of those positions but could join Barcombe to support in other ways like I do my existing society. Would this be of any use? I know you still need to fill those other positions but hopefully you can find people from the existing membership to do this.

I do hope you are able to find good people, we love coming over to Barcombe. I am in too deep here to do more elsewhere but I wish you all the best.

I'll be glad to see the back of this archaic nonsense. Upsets my dog and panders to a bunch of infantile pyromaniacs......

That is indeed sad news, I love Barcombe, it has always been a date in the calendar. Miricles have happened before, let's hope someone can come forward and help it back onto its feet.in the next few weeks.

Like everything else in life, Bonfire has market forces. In the case of Barcombe it seems that the obvious demand is still not sufficiently high in order for the required supply of help to be forthcoming.
So it will fold. And people will be sad. Just not sad enough to have done something about it.
