Ok, the jokes will follow.... but did anyone hear an almighty, thunder & lightning-like BANG at 3.30am Thursday morning?! (ie 15mins ago?)

I jumped out the bed and the Mrs heard it too. Can't be Cliffe Bonfire practicing already can it? There's no rain so can't be the weather....

Now she's got a migraine and I reckon we're both going mad. Most strange. What could it have been? Ball lightning? Roof beam cracking? No car alarms went off. Answers please....

I was awake from 00.30 working and heard nothing but the mice running around as usual. It was probably a poltergeist you heard, it is March 12th after all.

We're in Cliffe.

Starting to feel a bit bonkers. You're right, no dogs barked and I would have expected an alarm or two to go off.

Sounded like our house got hit by lightning. Maybe it was a dream.... but how did my other half hear it?

Hey JT,
We're 100 yards from you. Had an idea today; maybe something to do with the electrical sub-station - near The Gardeners - short circuited. Definitely sounded sparky.

Hope it's not going to happen tonight. In the words of Danny the drug dealer - "Quite fweaked me at the time."

Hi D&C,
I think I know who you are. I think I live very near you, but I didn't hear a loud bang early on Thursday morning. Sorry!
Bonne nuit.

Ah. Maybe you ain't who I thought you were, D&C. Sorry for the confusion!
Enough clues about my identity were in my original post, but only if you were who I thought you were. I was discussing Withnail & I with the person I thought was you in the Gardeners around 20 minutes before your post quoting Danny the drug dealer. If that makes sense ...
Oh well, never mind ;-).

But I'm always up for a Withnail and I quote. Let's start a new thread...
