it's just past 03:30 in the morning and I've just witnessed some drunk kids practically fall into Pells pond before being scooped up by parents who didn't seem too concerned despite their tender years and who made no effort to shut them up as they shouted up and down the streets!......looking forward to Big Society when we can all regain control of our streets and get some sodding sleep.....zzzzz

I'd never choose to live near the Pells, it's a meeting ground for drunks, druggies, shaggers (found a condom near the tiny tots swings), louts, litters louts, dossers, t*ssers, morons, youth, joggers, not to mention the bleedin ducks....

Also what I find annoying is when the 'fisherman' block the path around the pond with their bags full of fishing paraphenalia and rods....real men would not fish in the Pells..
end of rant

Pells is akin to Harlem in the 80s or Helmand Province. I so glad I don't have to deal with it's idyllic location, close proximity to town centre parks, pells pool and river. It's the bumhole of lewes isn't it.

If the Pells is the bumhole, then Landport and Malling are the b*llocks...

thanks for your support guys!,,,,lol.
The police ARE taking notice now and we even have new signs up asking people to be a bit quiet late at night. Even then, one Pells resident took exception to them (he never hears anything apparently) and so he chose to stick a note on it proving what a total knob-goblin he is!!!
Let's see what the summer holidays and warm evening bring this season!

Holly - go feed the ducks. They're quite nice really.

I think they must have migrated westwards, there was loads of bloody noise up this way last night.
I could still hear kids shrieking and yelling at 1.30 this morning, and every dog on the Nevill was barking, including mine.

it was quite in the Pells, looks like they simply migrate around the town. someone should open a boxing club or something in the Phoenix quarter to give the little darklings something to do....or maybe they should just try sleeping rather than creeping about in a feral manner!

Its like a major crime scene on lower part of Highdown with soco etc.
They have been walking on cars including mine and breaking off wing mirrors. The noise around here from 2am onwards was awful.

jes!....I really don't understand any of this...these kids belong to someone who, presumably, is tucked up in bed or also out for the night - either way they have responsibilities as parents and that should be addressed when it comes to paying for criminal damage.

How about a curfew for anyone under 18 of 10pm and b4 anyone moans about human rights what rights do the victims of these crimes have??!!

no I don't think that would/could work and there are massive legal implications - I think education of both the parents and the kids is the answer combined with finding things for them to do which effectively tire them out and get them away from drink/drugs etc. They seem to have so much energy but it needs to be channeled into something positive.
While it is always tempting to fight fire with fire, all that will happen is we will burn the town down.

TAFKAPS - how about you not assuming that 100% of U18s need curfews if they haven't done anything? Your logic is like suggesting all cars are banned because some people drink/drive.
Sometimes adults vandalise cars during the daytime. Maybe all people should be locked indoors all the time?

I find it quite shocking that they get away with this type of behaviour..If I'd seen them vandalizing cars at 2 am I'd go out in my nightie and give 'em what for...

please don't Mary Gold, while I'm personally able to take care of myself in a scrap many kids together could be nasty and they may target your house etc thereafter!...just call 999 and report it or 0845 6070 999 if it isn't urgent (you could be thee all night)...give a description and maybe if your area has CCTV signs up then take pictures/video.

A couple of years ago I got so cross with a crowd of youths making load of racket until really late that I went and gave them 5 minutes to shut up and go away before I called the police, and they all left before I was back indoors. They wern't abusive or anything. But then I am very scarey!
I thought about doing similar last night, but the noise seemed to move around. It sounded like they were up on the downs at one point.

Rumour has it that it was some sort of Yr10 party up on the Downs. Think one or two of them may have been identified. Thing is, they're not terribly bright bunnies are they? In a town the size of Lewes it's a given that in any gang of 15/16 year olds rampaging through a residential area like the Neville, at least a couple of them will be recognised by family friends, parents of friends etc etc.

So Clifford does that mean you'd be ok with it, if the little ne'er do wells snapped your wing mirrors off or scratched your car or alternatively nicked your bike?!

Have any of you seen the film "Hot Fuzz"? I would very much suggest it, bit of awakening.
