Not a huge suprise as there was never anyone in there. Shame, coz the food was quite nice.

It's a shame as I've had some good curries there, but could a town the size of Lewes ever really support FIVE curry houses? From the numbers of people in Spice Merchant last friday when I went there, they must've taken trade from the other establishments.

I guess the idea would be that once you got to Lewes Spice and found it had closed down, you could get a tube to Shanaz or SM. It'd save you walking up Station Street. Seems a bit OTT to my mind.

A tube system sounds great. Lets lobby the council, after all surely it would be less poluting than the towns bus network?

A tube system would be great! We could suspend the trains in time of rising tides and river and flood the tunnels thereby saving the 3 or 4 shops left in Cliffe after the expanded Tesco has covered more of the flood plain. Now that's a plan!

I've seen the kitchens of Lewes Spice - not a pretty sight, in fact filthy. The food preparation (cooked chicken tikka pieces on a grimy floor in a plastic uncovered container) was none too appetising either. Surprised they haven't been closed down by environmental health before now.
