Naturally! The whole planning process is completely biased.
If I had been able to impose a condition, it would be that her electric and gas are permanently disconnected.

I thought the application for her vulva panels was just a cunning stunt

This came up before. As much as I dislike Ms De Veggie's crap leadership, there is nothing wrong, with her panels, which cannot be seen from anywhere bar one neighbours window, and a helicopter. By objecting in mass to this, instead of something really unacceptable that she has done, people are just endorsing what officers will say, which is that people are just being vexatious. 123 people all writing and asking why she allowed Councillors to be illegally prevented from meeting with residents to discuss Planning Applications would be much more effective.

Extremely good point LTR. I pride myself in being one of the few residents who did that when I raised the issue about 4yrs ago and, it would appear, nothing has changed.
The trouble with LDC is their contempt of the general public. They seem to have adopted the policy of bullying residents into submission.

Very sensible post LTR. Nothing wrong with solar panels. We should welcome them whenever they are installed appropriately like this.

You're right about their contemptuous attitude, AR. I went to the Southover Road office and asked to see background documents used in a planning committee report a few years ago, as anyone is entitled to. I was treated as though I'd asked to inspect their pants for skidmarks!
They also have one of the rudest receptionists I've ever encountered.

The staff upstairs have been fine when I have visited, with but the officers HATE you going in, becuase they don't like being subject to scrutiny for obvious reasons. Someone should give them some public awareness training. I was in there once, when the then Conservation Officer threw a spectacular wobbly, after he had stomped off, one of his colleagues apologized for his behaviour saying that he was considered very odd, but wasn't representative of her other colleagues! Not exactly reassuring.

My experience too, Eh? The 'then Conservation Officer' (and I think we're talking about the same person) once told me in an e-mail that he couldn't be bothered to answer a question I had asked. He then added that he was retiring. The problem is that they came to Lewes for what they thought would be a quiet life and aren't used to having to answer for their actions - and we can blame the councillors, who are supposed to represent the public interest, for that.

Since embarassing this bunch seems to be the only thing that works, I would love to see that quote! Someone else I know had a pile of documents thrown at him and a neighbour by this same guy. I would make c lear this is not the current Conservation Officer.

I like BONFIRE NIGHT, and of course all the out-meetings which go on around this time - and the loud bang at the crack of dawn!
