Looks like Aldi have stepped up opening date on the brooks road store, they're breaking the car park up this week. One of the guys working there reckons they'll have the roof on in 8weeks and open in 10! I know there's not much to the buildings but that seems a bit optimistic. About time for an alternative to Tescopoly...

How ethical are Aldi's business policies?
how much of their profit is reinvested locally (in this COUNTRY even)?

Aren't Waitrose and all the independent shops an alternative to Tescopoly? Not sure we need yet ANOTHER supermarket.

We're not exactly inundated with supermarkets are we, there have been far more in Lewes in the past. In fact we would be going back to a similar situation of what we had in the 90's when we had Tescos, Safeways and Iceland.
Furtherback there have been Co-op, Liptons and a previous Tescos. Not everyone can shop at Waitrose and Tescos needs competition.
