Albion Street in Parking Ticket Fiasco

Since before Xmas the Highways have been reparing the pavement outside Clifford Dann.
The Highways dept need space to park so they suspended a resident's bay - sadly the sign was ambiguous so the Warden ticketed nearly every car on Monday morning!
This is a complete mess - they're only laying some paving slabs!

Maybe this ambiguity is managed and not accidental? Pelham Terrace has very small almost hidden signs for the 'residents parking only' bays and there have been a few tickets issued down there as a result. sPurposley sneaky I say.

Closer inspection noted that they've closed all the bays so every car has been ticketed. The Higways guys turned up, parked in aspace for 5 mins or so then bogged off. How can such a small job turn into such a disaster?!

Seems the car must be moved to allow the thousands of cars using Albion Street to be a safe distance from the operatives when they are working. Must be a new rule for 2008 as they worked fine there before Christmas. The last remaining car has multiple tickets but hasn't moved. Seems the wardens can't move it and Highways cannot work til it's moved. Catch 22!

Shame it's not in Brighton. The tow truck would be there before you could say "The Tooth Fairy"

It was with much relief that the gang returned on Wednesday after an extended Christmas break but sadly it was half day closing. By 3pm the workmen had disappeared. I have every confidence the work will be completed this week though there is some curved cutting to be done at the entrance to Clifford Dann's car park.
