What's being exchanged? Is Samantha renting or does she own? If the latter is the mortgage paid off?

Come on you lot this is someone looking for an exchange that has kids and wishes to be near her family, Lay off and give her a break and put the feelers out for her. I know we all like a laugh on this forum but this is a lewes lass looking for help :-))

Perhaps Samantha should try advertising in the official mutual exchange list. Council tenants wanting to swap their properties are more likely to check the official guide rather than lewes.co.uk

Your right common sense, but she might have done that and just trying every angle possible.

I entirely agree with Michelle. The lack of social housing in this area makes it very difficult for people who have familiy in Lewes to live close to them and to schools, and little considertation is given to this by the council. I know of no property, but good luck to you and i hope you find a suitable exchange.

I am a veteran on the home swapping front and have been on a few sites for a couple of years now, trying to exchange my property.
Samantha will have no problem swapping her property as Newick is a very desirable place to live and she is willing to downsize to a 2 bedroom property.
I would recommend her to put her exchange on her local Gumtree site with a few pictures, which is free to advertise on.And putting cards in newsagents etc,and putting an ad in the Friday Ad.
Not everyone has access to a computer so she may consider paying around £8 to put an ad in the Friday Ad paper. It is free to advertise your property online but you still need to pay for your ad to appear in the Friday Ad paper.
Also Vivastreet and Preloved are 2 sites you can advertise for free.
Good luck Samantha.

So God (almighty font of all knowledge) what do you think the council should do about it?
By the way, are you local?

I have a 2 bed end of terrace in 'Old' Malling (ex-council house). I would like to swap it for a 4 bedroom detached house, with large garden in Barcombe. Any takers?

I have a 1993 escort, bit rusty round edges. I would like to swap for 2 year old Mercedes or BMW, not fussy on the colour.
