Hi Lewesians, I am wondering if any of you have, or know of any 2 or 3 bed properties for rent in Lewes (not ringmer, glynde and surrounds as we are moving from there) I am doing the usual searches on rightmove, zoopla and gumtree but was looking for that rarity these days, some local knowledge, perhaps a property that has not made it on to the web. We are a working family with a 6 year old layabout boy with good credit and references (us, not the boy, he has terrible credit) and a love of Lewes. We are looking for a long term let of at least a year!
Any help appreciated.
Many thanks all!

What's wrong with Ringmer, Glynde and surrounding areas?
Why not these areas?
What a cheek.
You say you are 'moving from there'. You can't be living in all of those areas at the same time.
What a strange creature you are.

less than £1100 per month and you want a 2/3 bed in Lewes ? Are you dreaming ?? Try Hailsham or Uckfield, as they say, you should cut your cloth accordingly.Sorry but the truth hurts - good luck

I'd suggest you check out all the Lewes letting agents and estate agents, as we found that not all of them put their rented places on websites like Zoopla, Rightmove etc (apparently it's very costly), so worth giving them all a call. We spent weeks searching but eventually managed to secure a let through one of the agents who actually owns a lot of properties in the town.

Try Wycherleys. Their rents tend to be lower, although also bear in mind that you get what you pay for.

@whatsthisabout you are so up your own arse it's surprising you can see the keys to type your little messages. I currently live in one of those areas and absolutely love it but am moving closer to our young sons school in Lewes as his friends are all in Lewes and I work in Lewes you assumptive idiot. How dare you! Why am I even explaining myself to you!
Honest landlord, there's plenty around already and we're considering a few, but I was trying to get ahead of the game using local forums instead of gutter and estate agents etc
Thank you all for your help and suggestions it is genuinely appreciated

Avoid Ann Wycherley! She lets her houses run to ruin despite repeated requests from tenants and neighbours who report problems. I have a friend currently living next door to one of her houses which has been abandoned by the tenant and it has been left in total squalor for months now. It's disgusting.

What an awful parent you are!
You live in one of the villages outside of Lewes (I don't know why you're being so cagey about which one) yet instead of sending your child to the local village school you decide to send your child to a school in Lewes, away from all the local village children, so they don't know any of the other children in their own village, but instead make friends with Lewes children but then can't ever play with them after school because of the distance in between them and now you've set a life up for your child in Lewes you can't afford to move there!
Cruel.

Try gumtree and Friday ad. When I was looking I found BPM seemed to be the most reasonable.

I agree with Leaf. We rent our house through BPM and find them very professional. Darren Bradley is the owner, nice chap.

Look out for the 2 beds in Court Road - they usually rent for under £1k a month - they are teeny tiny but are right in the middle of Lewes if that floats your boat and also have a car parking space. Good luck with your search...
