So my humble apologies in advance for the noise to be expected .LOl Can anyone suggest a caterer or good catering idea? Ive always cooked myself but think Ill be busy keeping the noise down :-(

YOu might also speak to Claire at Buttercup re catering and think about hiring a village hall or social centre - Cooksbridge is big enough for a party, St Mary's or maybe the working mens club up Malling hill. It would mean more work on your part, but would save some money

Have you tried the con club for a venue?

Hi just read you can't find any where for a 18th party. I know people run the crown inn down. Most have never used the pub. We do have 18th parties we don't charge for the rooms. Or do we charge over the top for the buffet. We are quite happy for people to bring in there own or we work on what budget people can afford. We make a profit on the drink sales. It's not about making loads of money it's about people enjoying themselves.
We ask everyone for id then stamp their hand. Then we are sure who's 18.

If you end up having the party at home, how about a delivery from Domino's at Ringmer? It's free delivery, reasonable food and just what most teenagers would appreciate. They do all sorts of hot wings, dough balls, cookies etc as well as pizza.

I think Dominos is more of a 14th birthday treat. The cheaper option is to use the upstairs function room of a pub - you provide the nibbles and a few drinks, after which people buy their own. The upstairs of the Lewes Arms is good and they provide food.

Pubs, Clubs, venues that serve alcohol will be concerned about under aged drinking, the age group for an 18th is risky. Even if they ID each guest I can understand why places you have tried are reluctant they want to keep their license and avoid staff being fined. How many people are invited to this 18th Birthday, I may have an idea for you.

Sorry we couldn't help you out at the Elly.
I hope you don't think we looked terrified and rejected you because it was an 18th birthday.
We have held them in the past quite successfully but I know a number of pubs won't do it because of horror stories about behaviour and the problems of under age drinkers.
The date you wanted is England vs Wales in the Rugby World Cup so there was no way we could accommodate you on the Saturday.
Good luck in your search for a venue.
