Adult Ballet @†St Michaels Church Hall
A classic ballet class which has been created for adults of any age with or without previous experience of ballet. Most injuries/physical limitations are also taken into consideration during the class which can often be a barrier to people exercising.
There is increasing evidence showing dance to be a wonderful form of exercise for a variety of conditions and for improving your mental well being.
Ballet will improve your balance and posture, strengthen your muscles and maintain or improve bone density as all exercises are weight bearing.
Most importantly.....IT'S FUN!!

African Djembe Weekly Class with Thomas Christen @†Lewes Community Kitchen
"Be Rhythm, Be Happy!"
We welcome Beginners + Improvers of All Ages 12yrs+!
We play djembe and dunun with hands or sticks, learn sound technique, rhythm basics, call + response; and study ensemble rhythms of mainly West-African origin.
We aim to empower students to enjoy the beauty of African rhythm + encourage further practice and ensemble play with their chosen instruments.

Instruments are provided or bring your own.

Cost: £40 per 4 week block on consecutive classes, or £13 per drop-in.

Beginners Photography Course @†Depot cinema

A beginnerís photography course aimed at those with a DSLR camera wishing to know and feel more confident using it.

Each individual on the course will learn how to fully operate their digital camera as well as understand the fundamentals of photography while looking at current films showing at Depot for creative inspiration. There will be opportunities to ask questions as well as lots of practical exercises.

What will the Beginners Photography course cover?
Manual exposure (ISO, shutter speeds, aperture)
Brief look at file formats (JPG, RAW) and tips on storing images
Lenses (focal lengths, macro, prime & zoom)
Manual vs autofocus (focusing points, autofocus lock, single & continuous focus)
Introduction to White balance
Techniques such as panning and zoom burst
The sessions are led by Kate Swanson, qualified teacher and working photographer. The course starts on March 4 and runs on 4 Wednesday evenings from 19:00 Ė 20:30 in the Studio. The cost is £70 for all 4 sessions.


Just a note to say loved the course, the content, delivery, pace was perfect for me AND I canít believe I can use full manual after only 3 sessions and have a renewed interest in taking pictures. Thanks again for your knowledge and help, it really was great!
