Heart of Reeds Day




Come and find out more about the history and wildlife of the wonderful Heart of Reeds on the Railway Land - and plans for its future care

Talks and Q and A

From 11am to 12.30pm we will have a series of talks and Q and A. This part of the day is ticketed and you can buy tickets on this page.

11.00 - 11.15 am: Welcome and overview, Helen Meade, Railway Land Wildlife Trust CEO

11.15 - 12.00 pm: Q and A with Chris Drury and Penny Jones. Chris Drury is the artist who designed the Heart of Reeds; Penny Jones organised the community activity and celebration leading up to its creation and opening.

12.00 - 12.30pm: The Wildlife of the Heart of Reeds

Display, soundscape and walks

In the afternoon there will be short guided walks around the Heart of Reeds, and displays in the Linklater Pavilion about its history, the wildlife that makes its home there, how it has evolved over 20 years, and plans for its future care. There is no need to book for this part of the event.

1.00 - 3.00pm: Displays and soundscape celebrating the Heart of Reeds, upstairs at the Linklater Pavilion.

Short guided walks around the Heart of Reeds. No need to book.

1.00 - 1.30pm; 1.45 - 2.15pm; 2.30 - 3.00pm
