Tom McConville, Lewes Saturday Folk Club

‘Tom is a brilliant fiddler & great singer; a wonderful ambassador of the James Hill musical tradition.’ (Aly Bain). Tom’s ground-breaking fiddle playing has had a huge influence on his contemporaries. The traditional sounds of Newcastle, Scotland, Ireland & America are fused with classical, jazz & bluegrass. The results are timeless. He has played with Bob Fox, Kieran Halpin, his own band Dabhand, Alistair Anderson's Syncopace, Phil Cunningham, Barbara Dixon, Chris Newman & Pauline Cato. He's an inspiration for the newer generation of musicians including Seth Lakeman & Kate Rusby.

Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in.

Tom leads an all-day workshop on fiddle & song during the day.

We have a loyalty card. Six visits earn you £5 off an evening when admission is £5 or more. It's £8 tonight.
