Mondays:The Oyster Club for over 60s, (disability Friendly)

10:00 - 12:00am The Oyster Club is a weekly drop in group now on Mondays instead of Fridays, for people over (or nearly over) 60 years. It is a space to relax, make new friends or find some quiet time to yourself.
Come and do some art and craft, learn to bring a puppet to life, or have a relaxing hand massage and look at our collection of books/ magazines while you have a cup of tea or coffee.
The group is for anyone over 60, but we welcome people living with a disability, including dementia and carers/family and friends of any age.
There is a ramp providing access for wheelchairs and a disabled toilet.
It is run by Hannah and her husband Kevan, Hannah is an experienced teacher of art and puppetry and has worked creatively for many years including with people with all sorts of disabilities.
No need to book, just turn up. Please get in touch for more information.

Joy of Movement / holistic dance and movement for health

10:45 - 12:00 Joy of Movement blends simple, flowing and easy to follow dance and restorative movement for women of all ages and fitness levels.
A gently guided class to wonderful music encouraging a sensory-based, holistic approach with a focus on breath, body sensation and feeling good. There is no right or wrong way in our classes and it is very permission giving!

Breathe, stretch, move, dance and deeply relax with a guided relaxation meditation to finish.

Well-being and a sense of inner peace and connection to our body is the main aim, though we do get fit in the process.
We are a very friendly and welcoming group who just love to move with no worries of 'getting it right'. Excellent for those who want to get fit in a fun and nourishing way with no pressure.

Photography Course at Lewes Depot

19:00 - 20:30 4 week beginners photography course aimed at those with a DSLR camera wishing to know and feel confident using it.

Each individual on the course will learn how to fully operate their digital camera as well as understand the fundamentals of photography, such as how to make correct exposures and understand the relationship between Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO.

There is lots of evidence showing dance to be a wonderful form of exercise for a variety of conditions and for improving your mental well being.

Learn Latin. Beginners and Revivers or GCSE in a year.

Can be extended into a second term, or to a third if GCSE is your ambition.
We'll use the Cambridge Latin course (online) but also Richard Taylor's Latin to GCSE - which nicely summarises the grammar.

From 11th May until the end of the season in September, Newhaven Bowling Club will he holding free weekly taster sessions. On our open day on the 11th Juniors and Adults can come down to view the facilities from 10am then get on the green. After that date, visits can be booked by prior arrangement.
The local friendly club has an active social membership, plays matches with other clubs and has hotly contested club competitions. The green is one of the best kept in the area. At the taster sessions experienced club members will be on hand to help all ages and all abilities from beginners to experienced players.
All sessions are FREE. Whatever the weather, we ask anyone who is interested to contact us or visit the club to register your interest. Bring flat shoes but all other equipment is provided. The club can be found at in Fort Road, near to the cricket and football grounds.
