The cheating Borough

There once was a society called Borough
Who would constantly fall out with one another.
The raft race they entered cause they thought they could be quick
But as everyone knows all Borough members are thick.
When it came to the rules they didn't have a clue
So they didn't build a raft they just used a canoe.
When it came to the race they easily won
All the other societies felt they had been done.
You may well of won and might have been quick
But to the other societies your just cheating dicks.

The borough raft was checked by the organisers and was fine. Just bad losers get over it. It's just meant to be a bit of fun no need to take it so seriously.

All the society's were told there's no rules apart from no fighting and it can't have a motor and build it out of what you want. Don't know how you can cheat in a race where there are no rules.

Its such a shame that some people have so much time on their hands to waste that they actually have to sit down and write a negative and nasty poem about a fun family day/event which attracted visitors and supporters in the thousands. How about keeping vindictive comments off of this forum for once and getting on with the things that really matter in life.

That was a class ditty Seaman Stains. However, would you like some hard cheese with those sour grapes.
It was a bit of fun FFS, Borough won, it was within the rules, you didn't.
Can't believe Cliffe actually rang the organisers to complain.
Should've paddled faster, LOSERS

Newell, unlike you to get your pennies worth in against the Cliffe! Hold a grudge? Oh yes, you do, don't you... Nothing in any post say Cliffe and I understand all societies involved were a little annoyed with Boroughs lack of trying! Any of us could strap 2 planks of wood across 2 canoes but 3 out of 4 societies made an effort, why couldn't they? Ok they may not have cheated but it's not really playing the same game is it?

I don't have to hide behind names either Zak.
An event for the town of Lewes that saw crowds along the river bank to witness a light hearted Sunday afternoon jolly has turned into bitter slanging match on a social site.
Certainly doesn't look good for visitors to our town. People are complaining about dieing trade in our town and you lot are doing a good job of bad mouthing our community .
A fun event that has not been seen on our river banks for a decade and probably never will again after this bad publicity.

In a small town like Lewes there are always loyalties, competition and grudges. This should be settled in the traditional way with a boys punch up at the Gardeners on a Saturdsy night. That's tradition too
