Fashion disasters

I just love the fact that there is so many different people who wear different fashions in Lewes but the one thing i cant get my head around is the fact that large people wear leggings. Dont they realise that they look bloody awful in them and they emphasise all the lumps and bumps, Why not wear something thats flattering to your size.

Skinny people wearing skinny jeans. YUCK!!!
people with muffin tummies wearing boob tubes. Put it away !!!
Ugg boots that have gone on the outside and have collapsed. Put them in the bin as they dont look good.
G-strings and boxer shorts flashing, especially the boxer shorts flashing on lads that walk in the way a penguin walks to keep their jeans up,. I saw a lads jeans fall down to his knees before he realised. Why ???? it does'nt look good.

How can anyone walk around like that Toque. You think a friend or a family member would say something to him

if he walks around like that he likely has no friends - and his family have probably disowned him

Blimey..people watcher i have to agree re leggings!!! I have several large friends who look fabulous in what they choose to wear...but leggings! I think the shops should refuse to sell them to the larger ladies, it will save them the embarrassment of being seen in them..and the rest of us don't have to see every lump and bump of there bodies. :|

Im shocked, agree and people watcher. Ever thought that people might look and you and think you look bad. If you dont like what you see dont look.

They probably dont because,
1 they have better things to do
2 they dont think its a big deal
3 why should they
4 its a free country and everyone is free to wear what they choose and more power to them.
5 maybe you do look a state but people are not that shallow to care!

Oh come of it lewesmama, if you were 20 stone and had a pair of legging on and a boob tube would you think you looked good. I wear items of clothing that complement my size not make me look hideous.

No i like to think i have honest friends, and i am not a slim lady and i would never make people suffer by squeezing my wobbly bits into leggings and make people see them, that's just so unnecessary.

Lewesmama, it's not about weight it's about fashion!!!!!

Lewesmama how much more do i have to say to convince you it has nothing to do with size it's to do with presentation. Be big and beautiful and proud of it, i am

You cant. Why would you say things like that if you didnt have an issue. Those women that are big and wear what they want are the proud ones not the ones that say "Im too big to wear that".

On 13 Nov 2009 at 2:20pm large lady wrote:
I totally agree with the above on the fact of leggings. I am a large lady and would never dream of wearing leggings. They should put a size restriction on them. 12 to 14 max.

On 13 Nov 2009 at 2:23pm People watcher wrote:
Ok then, lets put it this way if you were a size 20 would you wear a mini skirt ??? I know i certainly would'nt. What a sight i would look.

On 13 Nov 2009 at 2:46pm Lewesmama wrote:
No I probably wouldnt but also wouldnt if I was a size 8 they are far too 80s for me. But the point im trying to make is people can wear what they flippin well please and size should not be a barrier. Saying things like "there should be a size restriction on them" is no different from Peter Stringfellow saying fat people should not be allowed in his club. No matter what way you dish it up its discriminatory and just beacause its about clothes is no excuse.

People Watcher...you obviously lead a very sad life....worring about what people look like in what they are wearing, has it really got anything to do with you??? i think not....if the larger lady is happy in leggings then so be it,it just shows they have no hang ups like you so clearly do. get over it and maybe you need to look in the mirror as i bet you are no oil painting!!!! Larger ladies you just be happy and keep wearing those leggings....

Hotlips, what are you saying? Big People look hideous in leggings - sorry but it's true, in fact leggings shouldn't be made in anything larger than a size 12. It is not sad to care about one's appearance, and before you say you bet I'm no oil painting, I think you'll find I am.

I have been in Stringfellows many a time and wondered were all the fat people had gone to. You have just answered a question for me Lewesmama, thank you. Must have the same law as that beach in Italy were they have built a narrow maze wall to prevent any fat people getting into it. The owner does'nt like overweight people on his beach. But if your a gym buff he has security at the top end who let the body builders in.

Why should fat people be denied comfortable leggings? I wouldn't wear them myself, but that's because I'm sensitive about being a lardarse. I quite admire big ladies who let it all hang out and don't give a damn. Good luck to them, I say.

Of course because silly me to forget women should only do things to please the men folk.
And Squid,no its not sad to care about ones own appearance, however why are you all getting so bent out of shape about other peoples appearance???

I've not got a problem with large people, my family are all large but what they do is dress to compliment the weight, not go around looking hideous. Race and sexuality dont come into it what so ever.
It's like seeing a large man wearing a pair of speedos on the beach, now that is a disgusting sight.

Let us all be honest here though... i am all up for the larger lady keeping her leggings on... if it prevents her wearing a mini skirt WITHOUT leggings!! Too many times in my life have my young eyes been violated by big, wobbly, sweaty orang-peel legs rubbing up against eachother as a (usually chavvy) biffer waddles up the high street. Keep that under wraps girls, ain't no one want to see that whilst we're eating our organic, free range, wheat free muffins and sipping on our lactose free decaffinated skinny lattes in the mornings. And whilst we're at it I suggest banning white trousers for them too, especially when they can't even be bothered to wear matching coloured knickers underneath them!

That's not true squidward. Some people have conditions such as MS or more commonly have an underactive thyroid and this can result in obesity/overweightness. I was born into a family that is very solid-not fat just muscly and heavy and I am now worried that I should ditch my leggings after this discussion. Does it really matter or are people just so image conscious that they should be defiant on what other people should/shouldn't wear.

Appearance is important and no one can deny that. Lets be honest here if you were in a pub and some slim scruffy woman came upto in a pub and started chatting you up what would you do ? I know that i would'nt show any interest but if a fine larger lady, well groomed started chatting i would respond. First impressions are important and if any of you want to disagree then your all telling porkies.
